Lately, when I’ve been feeling a little low or in need of a general feel good moment I have fired up the Scottish Cup Final of 2016 and watched the last few minutes.
It’s Henderson to deliver…and David Gray has scored, the Captain! Hibs are on the brink of history!
Still get a thrill from watching it. The corner, the header, the reaction. What a day. What a weekend. I still can’t properly explain it to people. I’ll say “it was just…amazing.”
On Saturday there I sat down to watch Hibs as usual in Easter Road. A crowd of over 14,000. Hibs were brilliant. No other way to say it, they were classy. They were tough. They fought hard. They won 4-0. The atmosphere in the stadium was good, the fans in good fettle. While the Morton fans shouted at Jim Duffy, Neil Lennon, anyone… the Hibs fans were 100% behind their team and watched new boy Shinnie, Holt, Cummings and other new boy Graham put Hibs the top of the league and better our goal difference. Not bad. New goalie Marciano (Rocky!) had little to do.
You know though, as happy as I am with our four in four wins and our league position and goal diffence…I keep going back to May the 21st. Who couldn’t? Especially with the launch of The Persevered Scottish Cup Tour.
History was made on the 21st of May 2016 and no one can take it away from us.
Please visit Persevered.co.uk for news on the tour and info on how to get involved.
To finish. Sunshine on Leith by the Hibernian Supporters. GGTTH
Thank you Mrs Hibs – Leeann Dempster, from us all.
From us all, thank you Alan Stubbs. You rebuilt us. You made us. You brought us the Scottish Cup!
Hibs, work hard to get Liam Henderson back to Easter Road. He is Hibernian through and through. He knows us, he gets us, he wants to be with us. Just look at his celebrations on the win. Get the boy back where he belongs.
I love this club. We shall always Persevere.
